Swiss town covered in chocolate 'SNOW' after factory malfunction.

Updated: Mar 21, 2021

2020 screwed up just enough that it did something right.

The chocoholic dream came true for residents of a small Swiss town on Saturday when "chocolate snow" seemed to fall from the sky. Small chocolate shavings rained down on Olten, between Zurich and Basel, after a malfunction at a Lindt and Sprüngli factory.

It wasn’t a Willy Wonka-style chocolate giveaway, but rather a defect in the factory’s cooling ventilation.

The chocolate maker says a ventilation problem launched cocoa powder into the open air outside its facility. The wind caught the powder and spread it across the neighborhood, leaving a fine dusting of sweet, sweet chocolate.

Meantime, Lindt & Spruengli addressed the problem quickly and work is back on in the factory.

The ventilation system has now been repaired and chocolate production has continued as normal.

However, the company made it clear that the particles will not damage people or the environment.

Dreams do come true, or at-least they do in Switzerland😋🤷🏻‍♀
