This book is a true story of a prominent psychiatrist, his young patient, and the past-life therapy that changed both their lives. Dr. Brian L. Weiss was a scientist and psychotherapist, molded by years of disciplined study into a conservative professional. He was aware of research programs in parapsychology at major universities, but they seemed too far-fetched to consider seriously. Then he met Catherine.

Psychiatrist Dr. Brian Weiss had been working with Catherine, a young patient, for eighteen months. Catherine was suffering from recurring nightmares and chronic anxiety attacks. When his traditional methods of therapy failed, Dr. Weiss turned to hypnosis and was astonished and skeptical when Catherine began recalling past-life traumas which seemed to hold the key to her problems.
Dr. Weiss's skepticism was eroded when Catherine began to channel messages from 'the space between lives, which contained remarkable revelations about his own life. Acting as a channel for information from highly evolved spirit entities called the Masters, Catherine revealed many secrets of life and death.
This fascinating case dramatically altered the lives of Catherine and Dr. Weiss and provides important information on the mysteries of the mind, the continuation of life after death, and the influence of our past-life experiences on our present behavior.
The way the author takes you through the journey of the months passed and the flying time during the sessions he describes is quite gripping. Though at certain points I found it a little dry due to a little repetition and a plain narrative in totality it was a beautiful experience.
It is wonderfully written and delivers the most powerful message in the simplest form which is very easy to “connect to”. Reincarnation and the true knowledge of the soul have always been advocated and put forward by our ages-old Hindu religious scripts in various ways. Well in today’s world where faith is so very fragile, this book provides a solid foundation for all those people who are looking for a rationale to believe in these concepts. It might as well make a non-believer lookout for rational to finally believe in them.
In line with messages from one of the masters in the book "That we must share our knowledge with other people. That we all have abilities far beyond what we use. Some of us find this out sooner than others...." I’m sharing the knowledge of this book with everyone in my network of friends and family recommending them to read. We have quite forgotten our cultural pasts in India and the same is acknowledged by the author too. We have a lot to learn from our culture I suppose and the author’s crisp words and clear thought add to the idea of revisiting the culture in you.
