Kota Factory gives an insight into the atmosphere of the increasingly ambitious industry for education in a small city in Rajasthan. Drowned by competition, one can cut the tension in Kota's atmosphere with a knife. Millions of students from all over India come to this factory to fulfill their dream of getting into the nation's most prestigious engineering colleges- the IITs. The series has so far projected the story in two thrilling seasons, both ending with a teeming uncertainty.

The story's protagonist, Vaibhav, is the most realistic and relatable character so far. The story follows the narration and perspective of Vaibhav being all dreamy about his life in Kota. Nevertheless, reality soon hits hard as the story unravels, giving the touch of a grim situation one can realize while preparing for one of the toughest examinations in the world. Despite earning a reputation for gathering a clique audience with its one-of-a-kind screenplay, for better or worse, the story does contain some clichés and plot holes. Another highlighting factor, Jeetu Bhaiya, is the metacognitive character and is the one whom all the students admire. Thus, this character is very well written and drips wisdom every time he finds a troublesome situation. The story follows a transition from a quiet conspicuous beginning to a rollercoaster of emotions, expanding on the ideas of a typical phase in the life of an IIT aspirant. In addition, the series brims with a subtle tone of sarcasm throughout while it is in tandem with its underlying dark tone. Not to mention, the obvious but not so in-your-face tale of infatuation give the series a wholesome turn. In my opinion, the series did justice to the expectations it withheld and ended up being a pop-culture hit in its own right. On the flip-side, to be critical, the series lacked nothing but an element of surprise and kind of feels predictable after a finite duration. Optimistically, both seasons ended with a cliffhanger, and anticipation of the third season's plot has left the audience in awe.
