Iran's uranium centrifuge facility explosion

On the 11th of April, the Iranian state television and the competent authority reported that there had been an incident at the "Natan" nuclear power plant. The reasons or guilty ones aren’t identified yet. Fortunately, no person got harmed and no toxic materials went out of the safe area. Some people think it’s possible that some terrorists had sabotaged the power station.

And all this after the explosion in 2020, which is only a part of the endless series of attacks, on the same power plant.

The background and the nuclear agreement - What happened?

The incident on April 11, 2021, which occurred just shortly after new centrifuges were commissioned, caused a temporary power outage. These new centrifuges enable a faster enrichment of the uranium. An important factor is that the commission of the centrifuges violates the international nuclear agreement from 2015, which is a topic at the discussion in Wien, Austria. In the past also the United States of America under the control of ex-president Donald Trump left the agreement in 2018 that should prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons. According to the official answer from Iran, they didn't want to use the high concentrated Uranium for military advantages. Hassan Ruhani, president of Iran, has to fight on two fronts. Firstly he is supposed to keep in check the USA and other countries, especially the ones that are members of the nuclear agreement, which Iran has violated because they already scorned economic sanctions on Iran. Secondly, Ruhani has a fast-growing resistance group of political critics in the Iranian parliament, who accuse him of a politic from which the western countries benefit. That's why it’s clear to see that the situation escalates more and more, but not only because the USA left the agreement or because Iran violates the agreement. There is another country that plays at least an indirect role - Israel.

The endless conflict - The role played by Israel?

For many years the Middle East region is a big spot for conflicts. In this region different religions, political and economic systems, and allies meet each other and mostly don’t allow a co-existence. An important country in this region is Israel, which accuses Iran of using the high concentrated Uranium for their military long-range weapons. Iran accuses Israel, represented by their Intelligence “Mossad”, of sabotaged the nuclear power station Natan. The attack on Natan went smoothly, but who can grant this for the future? This whole situation is very complex and nobody knows who are the guilty ones next, but is this the most important question? Isn’t it important to find solutions instead of just making allegations? The president of the USA, Joe Biden said that his country will be pledging for re-entry into the nuclear agreement. This could be a big step in the direction of peace in this region. Nevertheless, it’s still questionable how long every single Country of the Middle East region, especially Iran with its nuclear power stations, can withstand the attacks and not unleash a war that would destroy much more than in the past.
